How does a system keep one campus’s data separate from another’s?
Every row in the system carries both the group it belongs to and the campus it belongs to, and all data access goes through a layer that applies both. A campus administrator does not see another campus's students because the query cannot return them — not because a screen hides them.

Can two campuses run different academic years and terms?
Yes. Branches in different countries do not share a school year, a week, or a grade ladder, so each of those is per-campus, with a group-level default that a new campus inherits and can then diverge from — so adding a branch does not mean re-entering everything, and a campus opting out of the group year does not unset it for the others.

How do you get a group total when campuses use different currencies?
A group total across campuses on different currencies is meaningless without saying how it was arrived at. Every aggregate in Classbell shows the currency it is expressed in and the exchange-rate date it used, and shows each campus in its own currency alongside the converted figure.

How is a multi-campus system priced?
Packages are sized by active campuses, students and staff. A plan that no longer fits is refused at the point of purchase with the reason stated, rather than silently accepted and enforced later. Archived campuses are retained but do not count against the limit.
What happens when you add a fifth campus?
It inherits rather than starting empty. A new campus is created with the group's grade template copied into it, so nobody re-types fourteen grade names, and it then diverges wherever it needs to — its own currency, its own term dates, its own teaching week. The inheritance is a copy at creation rather than a live link, which is the point: a campus editing its grade list must not silently edit every other campus's.

What does a group administrator see that a campus administrator does not?
Everything, and that asymmetry is the whole point of a group system. A group administrator sees every campus, can switch the whole dashboard to one campus and back, and holds the actions that must not be delegated — reversing a payment, changing a package. A campus administrator's scope is their campus, applied on every read rather than as a screen filter, and they cannot invite anyone above their own level.

How do communication and search work across a group?
Notices are targeted with an audience builder that crosses role, campus, grade and fee status, with a live count of how many people will receive the notice before it is sent — so nobody discovers the audience was wrong afterwards. Read percentages and acknowledgements come back per notice. Search is scoped by role: an administrator searches their scope, a teacher searches the pupils they teach.

Common questions
Can each campus use a different currency?
Yes. Currency is set per campus, invoices are issued in the campus currency, and group totals are converted with the exchange-rate date shown alongside them.
Can campuses run different academic years?
Yes. An academic year can belong to the group — in which case every campus inherits it — or to a single campus, which shadows the group default for that campus only.
Can a campus administrator see other campuses?
No. Their scope is their own campus, applied in the data layer rather than in the interface. Group administrators see every campus.
How many campuses can one group have?
The smallest package covers one campus, the middle three, and the largest is unlimited. Archived campuses are retained but do not count against the limit, so closing a site does not push you up a package.
Can a teacher work at more than one campus?
A teacher belongs to a campus, and a timetable slot must name a teacher who is at that class's campus — checked on the write, because cross-campus double-booking is invisible to a per-campus conflict check.
