Essential cookies

These are set without asking, because the service cannot work without them.

• Your session — set once you sign in to a school portal. It is what keeps you signed in, and it is bound to a single school so that a session for one school cannot be used against another. It is cleared when you sign out, and it is never used for analytics, profiling or advertising.
• Your cookie choice — remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so you are not asked again on every page and on every school address. Its entire value is the word granted or denied. It identifies nobody.

Optional analytics cookies

Nothing in this section loads until you press Accept. If you decline, the scripts are never fetched — they are not loaded-and-silenced, they are not loaded at all — and the site and product behave identically.

Google Analytics 4

Tells us which pages are read and which are ignored. It records the pages you visit, your device and browser, and an approximate location derived from your IP address.

Inside the school portal we rewrite the page address before it is sent. A real address like yourschool.classbell.app/app/students/stu_00123 is sent as app.classbell.app/app/students/:id. That removes the pupil reference, your school’s web address, and — importantly — any invitation or password-reset link, which would otherwise be a working credential sitting in an analytics log. Your school is identified to Google only by an opaque internal reference that means nothing outside our own database.

Microsoft Clarity

Records a replay of page layout and of your clicks and scrolling on this website, so we can see which parts of it are confusing.

It is not loaded inside a school’s portal. No pupil, guardian or staff record, and no page address from a school portal, reaches it.

What we still do not do

• No advertising or social pixels. Nothing from Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn or anyone else. Google Analytics is configured with advertising features and Google Signals switched off.
• No third-party fonts at runtime. The typeface is downloaded at build time and served from this site.
• No embedded video player. The product overview video is a file served from this same site, not a YouTube or Vimeo embed.
• No selling or sharing of data. Analytics data is used to improve the product and for nothing else.

What happens regardless of your choice

Server request logs

Our hosting provider records standard request data — IP address, user agent, the page requested and a timestamp — in order to serve the page and to protect the service from attack. This is ordinary web-server logging, not tracking, and it is not linked to an identity. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.

One request to our own pricing API

The pricing section is pre-rendered with prices captured at build time. After the page loads, your browser makes a single request to our own product API to check whether those prices have since changed. That request carries no cookies and no credentials. If it fails or you have JavaScript disabled, the pre-rendered prices simply remain.

Changing your mind

Clearing cookies for this site removes your recorded choice, and you will be asked again on your next visit. Every browser also lets you block cookies for a site entirely; note that blocking them for a school portal will prevent you signing in, because the session cookie is what a signed-in state is made of.

If this changes again

The same commitment stands: we will update this page before adding any new non-essential cookie, and ask for consent at that point. See sub-processors for the full list of third parties that can receive data, which is kept current as a contractual obligation.
